Home remedies for age spots assist in getting rid of small brownish colored lesion found in individuals of old age. These spots are sometimes also referred to as lentigines or liver spots, and are painless. These usually appear at neck, forehead, face, back, hands and feet. Although named as liver spots, they have no relevance with liver disorder. It is sometimes mistaken of being cancerous by common man, which is not correct.

Lemon Juice: Lemon Juice acts as bleach and is a regular component of many fairness and bleaching creams. It must be applied at the age spots twice a day. According to the Doctors Book of Home Remedy, when this treatment is given for six to eight weeks, the age spots will surely begin to disappear.

Onion and Apple Cider Vinegar: Blend an onion and drain it with the help of strainer in a bowl. Mix an equal amount of apple cider vinegar to this and apply over the spots by a cotton swab dipped in this decoction. This has also shown improved results in 5 to 6 months.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Few drops of apple cider vinegar can be added to a glass of water and drunk. One can add honey to refine the taste.

Aloe Vera Juice: Aloe Vera is found to have tremendous potential in treating dermatological situations like burns etc. Gel or juice obtained from Aloe Vera can be directly rubbed on spotted regions to get rid of them.

Castor Oil: These age spots are sometimes rough in texture. If this is the case, one can apply castor oil twice a day for few months to see improvement in the appearance of the same.

Olive Oil and Vinegar: A spoonful of vinegar and olive oil each can be mixed and applied on the spots. This is washed in half an hour using water. This is a useful home remedy for erasing age spot.

Cucumber: Slices of cucumber or its juice is very effective in removing age spots.

Papaya: Raw papaya can be grated and rubbed on the spotted area and is washed after few minutes. This must be followed every day to get good results.

Orange Juice and Apple Cider Vinegar: 2 to 3 spoons of orange juice can be mixed in half spoon of apple cider vinegar. This must be applied over the darkened regions for around a month. This also yields promising results.

Butter Milk and Tomato: Butter milk and tomato juice can be applied over age spots to get encouraging results in removal of spots.

Garlic: Paste made up of garlic has been observed to be efficient in treating age spots.

Dandelion: Dandelion stem is proved to cure a number of skin problems. Age spots too can be effectively treated by consuming it every day.

Radish, Vinegar, Lime Juice and Rosemary Oil: A concoction of juice of lime, radish, rosemary oil and vinegar is prepared and applied over the spot. This not only cleans the skin but also brightens it up.

Rose Water and Sandal Powder: Both of these are prepared and applied as a mask over the relevant site. This is allowed to dry followed by washing with fresh water. This is also effective in removing age spots.

Shade: Individuals, who stay indoors or under shade, never come up with the problems of age spots. Thus you should try to stay in shady areas to avoid these blotchy appearances on the skin.

Covering the Spots: The areas under age spots must be kept covered to prevent further darkening. Rest of the skin should also be protected by covering so as not to develop more age spots.
